Personal

After receiving my PhD from Yale University in 2022 and teaching at Carnegie Mellon University for one year, I enlisted in the United States Navy and earned my citizenship in boot camp in 2023. Boot camp was an eye-opening and memorable experience in my life: I met recruits/sailors from all walks of life.

I am currently a Navy reservist as a logistics specialist. I am very new to the Navy, but I am very looking forward to learning more about the Navy.

I love swimming and running after teaching. They are a blessing to recharge myself.

Attended Harvard-Yale graduate students conference on March 1, 2019, at Harvard Faculty Club in Cambridge, MA. It was the only conference that I attended as a Yale student. Years later, many of the student participants became professors in major research institutions in the United States or Asia. I am on the very right of the second row.

Received my PhD in modern China studies from Yale University on May 23, 2022. Sterling Memorial Library, Yale University, New Haven, CT

Dress white uniform photo in Chicago O'Hare airport on August 26, 2023 before going to my logistics technical school training (A-school).

It was a very proud moment in my life.
